Hominids are a group of primates that includes modern humans and their extinct ancestors, as well as some of their close relatives. This group also includes species such as Homo sapiens (modern humans), Homo neanderthalensis (Neanderthals), and Homo erectus, among others. No, crocodiles are not the hominids of the reptile world. Hominids are a family of primates that includes humans and their ancestors, while crocodiles are a separate group of reptiles. Crocodiles belong to the order Crocodylia, which also includes alligators, caimans, and gharials, while hominids belong to the family Hominidae, which includes humans, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans. Therefore, crocodiles and hominids are not closely related in the evolutionary tree. **

Pongids, also known as great apes, include species like gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos, and orangutans. They are characterized by their lack of a tail and their larger body size compared to hominids. Hominids, on the other hand, include humans and their extinct relatives like Australopithecus and Homo species. Hominids are distinguished by their bipedal locomotion, larger brains, and more complex tool use compared to pongids. **

In a professional race, the average speed can be much higher, often exceeding 25-30 miles per hour (40-48 kilometers per hour). **
